Frequently Asked Questions

What is a ShoVine?

A newsworthy event that could be a celebrity appearance or spotting, press conference, movie premiere, or really anything you feel might be worth reporting on. Report the entertainment news that’s important to you. If it’s important to you… it’s probably also something your friends and the community would want to hear about.

What is a Post to a Vine?

Your side of story. If you were at the scene of a Vine - add your Post to the story. Sign Up and you’ll be able to add your photo, YouTube video, and text of the story. It’s best when Posts are current and you can provide an eyewitness account, commentary or analysis.

We encourage you to self-promote on ShoVine.com but you still got to add relevant news, photos, or YouTube video to ShoVine news community. Editors will catch spam and flagrant self-promotion pretty quick and you’ll be done on this site.

What do Editors do?

Above all, editors can start and moderate ShoVines. Report abuse and spamming. Editors don’t filter content (if it fits, it stays on the vine). An editors role is to guide, inspire, encourage, and assist the community in adding the best entertainment stories to ShoVine.com

How can I become an Editor?

Post a lot of good content. Be the type of person that is out there and looking to report first hand entertainment news. Do those things and the community of editors will quickly notice and you will earn your editor stripes.

How can I get paid?

Sometimes ShoVine.com gets video footage or photos that newspapers or television news would like to use. if we are able to syndicate your content to a media outlet we will split the usage fee 50/50. Now.. before you start making plans for that new car let’s start out by saying the the most common rate that a video clip or photograph is syndicated for is $100.

Is there advertising on ShoVine.com?

There are advertising and sponsorship opportunities available on ShoVine.com. Contact us to arrange. We are looking for advertising partners that offer entertainment related products and news services.

Why vote Posts up Vines?

Because we like to see the cream rise to the top. By voting up posts the best stories, video and photos are seen by the widest possible audience. And by voting down posts, spammers and blatant self-promoters are buried into the ground.

ShoVine.com uses an algorithm that considers the following factors - community up/down votes, how many people peeped that vine, how many posts, and votes by editors to determine what makes it to the top of the vine and relative rankings.

Who owns the copyright for stuff I Post on Vines?
