Leslie Feist at sold-out Toronto’s Sony Center - photos and video.
May 16, 2008
Feist played a sold-out gig at Toronto’s Sony Center. It’s amazing what an ipod commercial and grammy award nominations will do for ticket sales in the “home” city. It’s not just selling out the 3,200 seat theatre. Feist will be back playing Toronto again in a few months at the even larger Air Canada Center. Not sure how she will pull off playing in the cavernous ACC where her intimate voice will probably get a little lost - but on this night at Sony Center - the crowd was well into the vibe of the show. The Globe and Mail’s review headline summed up the mood of the show well, “Feist’s magic makes big hall feel small.”
But as she demonstrated on Tuesday, her best trick is being able to make that bigger show feel as intimate as a club gig. No matter how smoothly things ran, and despite the obvious polish of the arrangements, Feist and her band somehow conveyed the casual air of musicians rehearsing for a few friends. - J.D. We give a big shout-out to vwsluk who posted on Flickr.com some of the best photos and video we saw come out of the Feist concert.

On her stop through Toronto, Feist found a little time to set down with Strombo at CBC’s the Hour. Good Interview.
posted by VWSLUK. Feist had some very cool backgrounds projected that made for great photography.
Another great photo from the Sony Center Toronto show.
Ok, this video is not really about Feist’s Sony Center show - but somebody mentioned the Ipod commercial above… I guess Feist has really made it because MADtv did a very funny bit ripping on the Feist ipod commercial.
I looooved Feist at the Sony Center. Awesome show, amazing visuals. Here she is doing FEEL IT ALL.
