Outside the JUNO press conference during 2007 Toronto Film Festival
April 17, 2008
(September, 2007) Nobody was really talking about it then. If the press conference for Juno was heavily attended it was more because it had an A-llist star in it’s cast - Jennifer Garner. Nobody at this time had heard of Ellen Page or writer Diablo Cody, both of whom would go onto major buzz and Acadamy Award nominations (Cody would win for screenwriter.) Director Jason Reitman, who at the time simply said, “I was just thrilled to get into TIFF.” - would also go onto Oscar consideration. And the little movie that could… Juno would move onto critical acclaim and close to a 300 million dollar take worldwide. But this days the Toronto International Film Festival - nobody knew any of this yet.

The official trailer. Closing in on 3 million views on YT.
I love the contrast in the crowd reaction to Ellen Page and Jennifer Garner in this vid. This is Garner and Page leaving the JUNO press conference at 2007 Toronto Film Festival. Notice how nobody knew who Ellen Page was at this time (Sept’07)
Yeah, the Juno press conference was a crazy scene. I really wanted to meet Allision Janney who is just an amazing actress. She was very nice to stop and take this photo with me.
Hey Selena, I shot a lot of video outside the JUNO press conference. Thought you might enjoy Allison Janney being real nice with the fans. Recognize anybody else in the video? I loved how Allison was actually concerned that you got a clean shot on your camera.
I also thought this was a pretty cool photograph I got outside the Juno press conference. I wanted to get my picture with Michael Cera - but it was impossible to get close. The more “professional” fans were all over him. Cera was the latest buzz because of the Superbad movie thing.
We shot this KayvonTV.com episode outside the Juno Press Conference at TIFF. I unfortunately missed a few of the celebs that were arriving (too busy with Genesis) - but my trusty producers did capture some very good footage of JUNO stars Michael Cera, Jason Bateman (Arrested Development rules!) Jennifer Garner, J.K. Simmons and director Jason Reitman. Enjoy folks!
