July 27, 2008
(July 27-08) There was laughing on the streets of Toronto this weekend as the Just For Laughs comedy festival touched down.
The one in the comedy spotlight - Jimmy Fallon was sought after for interviews by all the major Canadian media. Fallon shares some good stories with The Globe and Mail’s Michael Posner in this interview.
Fallon is back on the comedy stand-up circuit honing his chops in preparation for his new network TV gig – in 2009 he’s taking over Conan O’Brien’s late-night talk show on NBC. It was announced Tuesday that he would warm-up for the main event – expected to begin next spring – by hosting several months of nightly talk-show webcasts, each no more than 10 minutes long. - GLOBE AND MAIL

Fallon was real nice to the fans and media who waited to greet him after his Just For Laughs hosting duties at Massey Hall, Toronto. He has that “ah shucks, what me famous” thing going for him. The Canadian media spotlight was heavily upon Fallon this weekend with him taking over Late Night hosting duties for Conan O’brien next year.
Who doesn’t love LARRY MILLER. super nice guy.
Google ROBERT SCHIMMEL. They say comics draw upon their own life experiences for material. Then Schimmel has a wealth of stories to draw upon. He was married with grown children. He got cancer. While recovering in hosipital he fell for his oldest daughter’s best friend. Got well, out of hospital. Divorced the first wife. Married the daughters friend. Two more kids. Life goes on.
