ThePopVine.com (Jul 3-08) Jonas Brothers mania hit high gear as the brothers appeared live on MuchMusic today. Thousands of mostly teen girls descended upon downtown Toronto as Muchmusic devoted a full hour of live television to them.

TORONTO — They came in packs, waving hand-scrawled posters, wearing homemade T-shirts and unleashing ear-splitting squeals of excitement.

Hundreds of mostly shrieking teenage girls took over several blocks of downtown Toronto on Thursday to greet tween sensations the Jonas Brothers as the trio prepared to kick off a hotly anticipated North American tour.

It was crazy down at Much today. I don’t know of any band that ever brought that many people down to the studio as the Jonas Brothers brought today. Chicks camped out for two days for this. Here they lead the crowd in S.O.S.

It really was like Beatlemania down around Muchmusic today. I can’t think of too many bands that can bring out thousands of screaming girls like the Jonas Brothers did today. It took some work to get close to the boys around an avalanche of security and barriers… but Budman.TV did penetrate and pull off a number of good shots.

We got some emails about a concert warm-up show the brothers were doing at Ricoh Coliseum for a select few fans. They were told not to shoot video or take pics… but girls being girls…
