2008 Muchmusic Video Awards (MMVA’s) Red Carpet arrivals get rained on

(June 15-08) The annual Muchmusic Video Awards (MMVA’s) got off to a great red carpet start - only to have heavy rains set in and put a slight damper on things. But the show did go on. Red Carpet arrivals included Kristin Cavalleri, Rainn Wilson, New Kids on the Blocks, Rihanna, Kardinal Offishall, Akon, Simple Plan and many more.
We’ll let the Toronto Star’s Ben Rayner and his gift for prose set the scene of an eventful 2008 MMVA’s in his review aptly titled,

The red carpet swiftly turned into a red river, but it was gonna take more than a soggy strip of flooring material to put a damper on the MuchMusic Video Awards.
It certainly added a new urgency to the usual, hysterical MMVA pre-show spectacle on Queen St. W., watching everyone who had gathered Sunday evening outside Much headquarters — the performers ambling to the entryway in ludicrously expensive outfits, the publicists and label folk nervously clutching armloads of umbrellas at the ready behind them, the dozens of journalists and hundreds of fans jockeying for position around the barricades — pretend that they weren’t scared of the brewing maelstrom wafting in from the western skies. - Ben Rayner, Toronto Star

It started out well enough. After 8pm more of the notable stars started to show up on the red carpet. Then close to 8:30 - wham! a very heavy rain sets in. This is the last thing I shot before my camera shorted out.

Great to see Girlicious strut their way down the Red Carpet last night and do this awesome interview for the MMVA’s.
This is BurgerCAM, back on the seen. I was at the Much Music Video Awards aka (MMVA’s) I had a few peeps, giving me a shout out for BurgerCam.

Here’s a shot I took of Belly with Devon, it was my first time going to the MMVA’s and I really enjoyed myself. Seeing acts like Hedley, NKTB, and Rhianna made the rain worth enduring.
My favorite star of the night had to be Belly, I love his whole sound, style, and look, plus he hails from the same home town as me, Ottawa, so it is great to see him on top.
I can’t wait till MMVA’s 2009, I will be in the house 4 sure, hopefully we will get a bit better weather next year
